We are looking for Key Supplier Managers, these roles provide an on-site presence at key nominated suppliers. These will cover the areas of Dundee, Glasgow and Manchester or Gateshead, Sutton in Ashfield and various sites in mid England, to ensure flawless execution of critical work-scopes, therefore you must be willing to travel frequently.
The incumbent will be the primary interface between Aker Solutions and key nominated suppliers at an operational level, including ensuring delivery of key objectives such as qualification or improvement plans where applicable. Barriers to satisfactory PO execution shall be raised to the relevant support areas and proactively driven to conclusion. This includes working cross-functionally within Aker Solutions, and at nominated suppliers, to positively influence desired outcomes.
Act as an ambassador for Aker Solutions when on site at nominated key suppliers, adhering to the Aker Solutions attitudes at all times.
Ensure effective PO follow-up. Take proactive actions to understand Aker Solutions critical path delivery requirements. Flag any supplier capacity or delivery concerns immediately.
Provide detailed updates on key work-scopes to affected stakeholders on a regular basis. Physically check supplier status updates to ensure accuracy (physical and documentation).
Have a clear understanding of Aker Solutions’ priority PO items. Ensure these items are being prioritised by the supplier. Ensure the supplier is aware of and adjusts to evolving priorities.
Escalate any instances of conflicting priorities within Aker Solutions to ensure rapid resolution.
Clearly identify any priority PO items which are outwith Aker Solutions delivery requirements and implement robust recovery plans with the supplier.
Support, and where applicable drive, Supplier Development initiatives, based on a clear understanding of supplier performance against key performance Indicators (KPIs). Identify improvement opportunities and support suppliers with implementation. Identify and flag any support required from Aker Solutions
Identify recurring quality issues and establish improvement plans. Call on internal Aker Solutions resources for support, and coordinate workshops for quality improvement with the supplier.
Perform in depth supplier assessments – such as capacity, (including labour, machinery and supply chain) and manufacturing (including lean manufacturing, process control and quality management).
Flag and help resolve any commercial disputes with the supplier which may negatively impact delivery of critical items.
Be the single point of contact for all Aker Solutions sites and stakeholders requiring updates and access to suppliers in your remit. Facilitate their requirements.
Coordinate all contact and activities between Aker Solutions and supplier site. Manage and coordinate all Aker Solutions visits to critical supplier, including kick-off meetings and pre-production meetings. Log all Aker Solutions visitors to site and issue to Global Category Manager (GCM) on a monthly basis.
Support GCM with supplier business/performance reviews. Agree on a reporting rhythm and format with GCM. Keep GCM closely informed on supplier performance and any operational risks or opportunities that are being managed.
* We think you should have:
5+ years working in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing based role.
Demonstrable experience in managing improvement initiatives at suppliers.
Clear understanding of Supply Chain activity from tender to execution and close-out.
General understanding of supplier manufacturing processes and reporting tools
A strong understanding of supplier documentation requirements and associated approval cycles.
Ability to proactively build strong cross-functional networks internally and externally.
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, at all organisational levels.
Ability to work autonomously and remotely from AKSO sites – at key supplier premises. Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
Proficient in MS applications Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Extensive MRP/ERP system experience. SAP preferred
