As part of our continued exciting expansion in our Aberdeen region we are looking for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, reporting to the Commercial Manager, producing budgets for a mix of residential schemes across Aberdeen What you will have With a working knowledge of JCT or alternative forms of contract you have provide cost management and project administration abilities. Ideally, you will have residential project experience and relevant industry qualifications would be beneficial. You are a good communicator and team player who is self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative. Ideally you will have experience in COINS and expertise in MS Word and Excel is essential. What you will do The role involves general project coordination and administration, preparation and negotiation of initial site budgets and subcontract tender documents, obtaining risk assessments, method statements and safety documentation from subcontractors. You will also undertake site visits and inspections and coordinate with contractors on site. You will be responsible for the management of junior members of the team, along with subcontract payments; variation claims and final account settlement, and liaison with other departments and external consultants in respect of cost issues. The role also involves chairing sub-contract pre-order meetings and attending regular project review meetings; preparing monthly cost reports to ensure cost control throughout the development programme and provision of continuous financial advice throughout to the Site Management team.
