Aberdeen is situated in the North East of Scotland but with an easily accessible airport just fifteen minutes from the city centre it is no problem to stay connected to the whole of the UK and beyond. For example, fly to London in just over an hour at reasonable prices.

NHS Grampian therefore offers fantastic opportunities to advance your career as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist working with adults presenting with moderate-severe mental health problems.

Interview expenses are available to all candidates and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 is available to successful candidates.

This appointment will be on an almost full-time basis and the successful candidate will contribute to the provision of general adult psychology services in a secondary care setting. Candidates currently in training and graduating this year are encouraged to apply. Newly qualified candidates who are appointed at Band 7 are eligible for Band 8A after one year provided relevant competencies have been demonstrated.

There are good opportunities to become involved in teaching and research activities via well established links with Aberdeen University Departments of Mental Health, Psychology, and General Practice and Primary Care. There will be an opportunity to offer clinical placements for trainees undertaking doctoral training on the University of Edinburgh/NHS Scotland Clinical Psychology Training Programme.
