The Client:
Our client, a global leader in their field of integrity maintenance and repair are recruiting for a Head of Commercial to join their team in Aberdeen.
The Role
Reporting to the Corporate Development Director, this role will head the Commercial and Proposals function to support all Business Units in the UK and Internationally and will be responsible for all commercial activity working with internal stakeholders.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Develop and lead commercial strategy in line with the annual business plan including;
Supporting Business Development and Sales efforts
Performance manage commercial team to deliver best value to business
Direct, delegate and support the Commercial Manager for Repair and Commercial Manager for Inspection
Provide final review and direction on contracting negotiations in line with company Contracting Principals
Review RFQ and Tender submissions providing guidance on pricing and overall quality of bid submission
Draft / execute contracts in line with company Contracting Principles
Build and maintain relationships with key clients through structured performance review process
Support Corporate Development Director with management and implementation of all standards, processes and systems
Review and approve all proposals and sales orders in SAP in line with DOA
Support global hubs (USA, Norway, UAE) as directed by the Corporate Development Director
Manage and maintain existing and execute new strategic Partnership and Collaboration Agreements
Travel (as required) to support international hubs
Support diligence exercise on all new prospective Partners
To co-operate with Company requirements to ensure that statutory duties are met and to take care of self and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
Key Skills, Experience and Attributes:
The individual should have varied and detailed work experience in the industry and a detailed knowledge of contract review, supply chain management and tendering processes.
Excel in strategic and analytical thinking
Varied and detailed experience of managing and developing a team
Experience of fully integrated business systems
Enthusiastic, confident individual, with the ability to work on own initiative and self-manage own workload
A proven history of successful leadership
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Must be a strategic thinker and a have strong negotiation skills
Possess a collaborative mindset and works well as part of a team
Able to work in a systematic and orderly way with high standards in quality of work, excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
Ability to take on wide ranging tasks
Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines
Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask
Up to date on industry trends, as well as laws and regulations
Builds wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the Company
Manages conflict and disagreements effectively
Excellent IT skills – proficient in SAP and in-depth experience of fully integrated systems
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
LLB, LLM, QS Degree or equivalent
AND
5+ years prior experience at a senior level in commercial based role
